Policies and Procedures

REGISTRATION: You can start your registration by filling out one of our Google forms. The Fall schedule is out, and we have classes for 4 year olds to 12th grade. We offer FREE trial classes for each class.

You can then pay for classes using this website or via cash, check, money order, Venmo, Cashapp, PayPal, or Zelle.

Classes for Fall 2021 run September 13 to December 19. There will be no classes on October 17 and 31, November 22 to November 26, and December 13 to December 17. Classes are now offered in person. Most classes offer an online option as well. Please note which location each class is for in person classes. Our MD location is at Dance Exchange, 7117 Maple Ave, Takoma Park, MD 20912. Our PA location is 1105 4th Avenue Steelton, PA 17113. There will be two dance holiday parties. One will be at Dance Exchange in Takoma Park, MD which will be December 19 from 12:15-2:15 PM, and one in Steelton, PA which will be Saturday, December 18 from 12-2 PM. The location has not been decided at this time for our Steelton location. Classes are Eastern Standard Time.

PAYMENTS: Payments can be made upfront or using one of our payment plans.

Note: 12 week price is if you pay for all 12 weeks upfront. If you do this, you receive 5% off. We do offer payment plans for our 6 week enrollment classes.

**These prices will stay the same for our 6 and 12 week sessions during the Winter/Spring. There will be an 18 week option as well. This pricing does not apply to competition dance.


COVID POLICIES:

Masks must be worn during in person classes. Dancers that are vaccinated will be asked to bring their card on the first day of class or a parent should email their card prior to the start of class so an accurate record can be kept. All dancers will get their temperature taken by an instructor before entering the studio. Any dancer with a fever 100.4 or above will not be permitted in the studio. Parents are welcome to wait in the lobby at Dance Exchange, but must wear a mask. Our Steelton location has some outdoor seating. Masks are not required if parents are fully vaccinated. If parents or children waiting are not fully vaccinated, we ask that you wear a mask. Our indoor waiting area is under maintenance.

WHAT TO BRING: Dancers need to bring their own water and mask. Dancers should be in proper attire. Please see below for more details.

RETURNED CHECKS: There will be a $30 charge for returned checks. (This fee is based on MD State Law 3-512) Anyone having 2 or more checks returned for insufficient funds will be asked to pay using another method.

CLASS CANCELLATION: If an instructor ever has to cancel a class, there will be a make-up class scheduled.

REFUNDS: We have a no refund policy, however your child may make up the class. If we cancel a class due to teacher illness, we will arrange a make-up time. All make-up classes must be taken by the end of the Fall Session. If your child isn’t able to do another make-up or there’s some other issue, like illness or injury, we can offer a credit on your dance account toward future classes or merchandise from our online store.

Competition fees are non-refundable after competition registration is completed. If the event is cancelled, your fee will apply to the next competition or can be added as a credit to your dance account.

ATTENDANCE: During the Fall and Winter/Spring Sessions, attendance is important due to progression of the class and dance routines/choreography.

If your child normally attends class in person, but will be joining online for any reason, please give at least 24 hours notice before the class time so that Doncov Dance Company instructors can plan accordingly. We understand that sometimes families might have emergencies, but if the date is known ahead of time, please send us an email or call/text us.

MAKE UPS: Dancers may make up a class missed. The class must be for the same age unless approved by a Doncov Dance Company instructor. The class can be online or in person. If your child can’t make it to class, but can join online, they can do that instead of going to a make up class. Make up classes must be taken within the same session unless otherwise discussed.

DRESS CODE: Please wear clothes you can move around in comfortably. No jeans please! Hair needs to be up in some way and out of the dancer’s face. Ballet dancers should have their hair up in a bun. Tights and a leotard are optional, but highly recommended.

DANCE SHOES: Hip hop dancers should have clean sneakers or athletic shoes on. Ballet dancers should have ballet shoes on. Acro dancers should go barefoot. All other dance styles can wear jazz shoes, foot undies, or go barefoot.

CLASS OBSERVATION: Parents are invited to observe classes during our last week of the Fall and Winter/Spring Sessions. Parents will be notified with the specific dates.
